SYNOPSIS
Beyond the last streetlight of Ennerdale lies a forgotten place known as Kapok—a town that vanished from maps years ago, leaving behind nothing but abandoned roads, disturbing legends, and a darkness that refuses to die.
For generations, the residents of Ennerdale have lived with warnings about the hills surrounding Kapok. When midnight arrives, the air turns cold, strange mist rolls down the hillsides, streetlights begin to flicker, and unexplained voices drift through the darkness. The elders insist that nobody should look toward the hills after midnight, follow unfamiliar voices, or answer when something calls their name.
Most residents dismiss these stories as superstition. Daniel, a young man living in Ennerdale Extension 8, is among those who believe there is nothing to fear.
But one ordinary night, as Daniel walks home after visiting friends, he begins to hear footsteps following him along an empty road. Then a familiar voice calls out from the mist—one that sounds exactly like his mother's.
Drawn toward the hills, Daniel encounters a terrifying figure standing beneath a dying streetlight. Her torn clothing hangs loosely from her body, her long black hair conceals most of her face, and her eyes appear unnaturally dark.
She looks directly at him and whispers, “I have been waiting for you.”
Moments later, the streetlights go out. Daniel disappears without a trace.
The following morning, the only thing left behind is his mobile phone. When investigators examine its final recording, they hear hundreds of voices whispering the same chilling words:
“Kapok remembers.”
As fear spreads through Ennerdale, the mist begins appearing more frequently, shadows move where nobody stands, and residents report seeing figures watching them from outside their windows.
Something has awakened beyond the hills. And Daniel's disappearance may be only the beginning.
Episode 1 ends with a terrifying revelation: Kapok was never truly abandoned. Something is still living there—and it knows the people of Ennerdale are watching.
